VANguard is an existing Whole-of-Government service delivered by the Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.

VANguard provides a range of secure e-authentication services comprising the following services: 

• user authentication service;
• signature verification service;
• user non repudiation service;
• timestamping service;
• security token service [future service]; and
• single sign-on service [future service].

VANguard is a key enabler in meeting the e-Government Strategy for business-to-government transactions.

The high level overview of VANguard outlines its stakeholders and the key benefits it provides to both business and government.  VANguard supports a number of different, Gatekeeper accredited, digital certificates.
