Signature Verification Service

VANguard’s Signature Verification Service (SVS) enables a business user to sign an agency’s online form (PDF or XML) using their digital signature. A user’s digital signature is recognised as having equal legal status to a traditional signature.

The user submits the signed form to the agency which is then sent to the SVS to confirm that the digital signature is valid.

  • The user downloads a PDF or XML form on an agency website.
  • The user completes the form, signs it using their digital certificate and submits it to the agency.
  • The agency sends the signed form to the SVS to verify the user’s digital signature.
  • SVS returns a response to the agency asserting the user’s identity.
  • The agency then processes the online form.
